Facebook, updating, Home Page,Facebook user

This is good news to all Facebook users as Facebook has started redesigning their homepage to make it more user-friendly and make it easier for people when accessing different features of the site.

Facebook will release more information about the changes that they’ll be making soon.

Facebook users were not happy with Facebook’s last changes where they made two views for the News Feed. Almost 500,000 members joined a page called PLEASE GIVE US OUR OLD NEWS FEED BACK!. They dropped the changes after that.

Let’s just hope the new changes will make our facebook experience better :)

internet-explorer-hacker-access-user-files

Are you an IE user? If yes then you should be careful as Microsoft just announced that IE flaw can be used by hackers to access your files.

Microsoft said: “Our investigation so far has shown that if a user is using a version of Internet Explorer that is not running in Protected Mode an attacker may be able to access files with an already known filename and location.”

A hacker can only access files that he/she knows the name of the file.

So far Microsoft hasn’t seen any attacks that took advantage of this flaw. They are still planning to repair this flaw so for now, we should be careful when using IE.

A beta version was released last November and was downloaded 2 million times in a span of 3months.

We can expect a lot of improvements in MS Office 2010 where its biggest addition is the companion, browser-based version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. Microsoft will also make it available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions :) Can’t wait to give MS Office 2010 a try.

google, no longer supports IE6, internet explorer 6, safari, chrome, firefox, older browsers

By March 1, Google will stop supporting IE6 so those that are using Internet Explorer will have to upgrade at least version 7 if they want to use Google Docs and Google Sites services.

As a developer, I had encountered a lot of problems in IE6 when it comes to CSS and would be happy if IE6 will be phased out.

Another reason why Google will phase out IE6 is a flaw in IE6 was used in the recent cyberattacks against Google and others companies in the U.S.. That is why many companies have already stopped using older browsers like IE6.

Google recommends to use the new versions of browsers like Chrome 4 or higher, Safari 3 or higher, and Firefox 3 or higher.

apple_earnings_increased_50_percent

Apple first-quarter 2010 earnings soared past Wall Street expectations Monday, with the company reporting a profit of $3.37 billion, or $3.74 per share.

That’s up 50 percent from the same quarter a year ago, when profits reached $2.26 billion, or $2.54 per share.

Revenue for the quarter was $15.6 billion, up 32 percent from the same quarter a year ago. Wall Street was expecting between $11.21 billion and $12.6 billion in revenue on earnings of $2.07 per share. And Apple always gives an overly conservative estimate; last quarter, Apple said it was anticipating earnings between $1.70 per share and $1.78 per share, and revenue of between $11.3 billion and $11.6 billion.

google-chome-os-leaked_2

A wordpress blog has been setup where they posted screenshots of Google Chrome OS. Don’t believe on what you see right away since these images can be easily faked. I think it’ll take them a long time to build this one, according to Goog, it’ll be on the second half of 2010. It’s kinda too early to have screenshots of the Google Chrome OS desktop.
